Humanities

Our vision:

At Harlesden primary school we aim to deliver a practical, engaging and broad Humanities curriculum. Our topics are tailored to be relevant to student’s interests, but also teach them new knowledge and concepts they haven’t been exposed to before, to broaden their knowledge.  The curriculum is clearly sequenced, showing a progression in learning and we aim to embed student knowledge and skills by linking it to their prior learning. To meet the needs of our students, we incorporate literacy into the Humanities curriculum, to continue to develop and refine the necessary skills our students need to prepare them for a successful future. We promote a varied curriculum, giving students’ opportunities to question, be creative, curious and have real life experiences to explore their subject further, by prioritising school trips. The Humanities curriculum is designed and taught to meet the needs of every student so that all students can thrive. We aim to create learners who are ready for the next stage of their lives and prepare them to have a successful future.

If you require any further information about our Humanities curriculum, please contact the school and our subject leader will get back to you.
